Maker Village, the largest hardware incubator in the country and the ESDM facility, had successfully organized the first ever exclusive Hardware Startup Conclave in Kochi on March 10, 2018. The event which had exclusive focus on hardware startups was the largest of its kind in this part of the world. More than 1200 participants, including hardware startups, hardware enthusiasts and other key stakeholders of the hardware ecosystem from different parts of the country attended this event. Top most managers from Lockheed Martin, Qualcomm, Bosch, ARM, INTEL, IBM, Dassualt Systems, Altair, IMEC, Mentor Graphics, Key Sight, Texas Instruments & Tejas Networks, Senior Government Officials and Entrepreneurs attended the event. Senior academicians from top institutions like IIMs, IITs, National University of Singapore etc., fund managers from top VCs and angels, experts from international accelerators & incubators conducted focused parallel sessions. One of the major highlights of the event was a large Expo where hardware startups, industries, service providers and technology firms showcased their products and prowess.

In continuation of Hardtech’18, Maker Village is organizing Hardtech’19, the second edition, during 2019 April 5-6 at the scaled-up facilities (newly launched) at Maker Village, Kerala Technology Innovation Zone, KINFRA Hi Tech Park, Kalamassery, Kochi, Kerala. The two-day event would have keynote speeches and entrepreneurial stories from technology leaders, entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the world. In addition to the main track, the conclave is slated to have focused parallel sessions on the key drivers of creating a vibrant hardware startup ecosystem. Live product showcase by matured hardware startups from across the country who have products anchoring cutting edge technologies shall be the major highlight. The technology expo also would consist of showcase by global technology firms, service providers, vendors, who are organically linked to the hardware ecosystem, and products from SMEs and MSMEs. The event is also scheduled to coincide with the setting up of advanced/scaled -up prototyping and productization facilities, commencement of Center of Excellence (CoE) on Engineering Design and Simulation and the initiation of the operation of International Hardware Accelerator which shall be integrated with the operation of Maker Village.
Many top managers from global technology firms, industries and the leaders who scripted some of the fascinating entrepreneurial stories of the country have agreed to speak during the session.
